About Rich & Shelly 

Rich and Shelly got into the home watch industry for two main reasons.  They see the need for this service in their area because so many people go south for the winter and leave their homes unattended. Also, with the rise in short-term rentals in their area they want to be able to provide rental assistance to owners that do not wish to handle the entire process.

Rich and Shelly grew up in Southwest Michigan and have been in the area their entire lives.  An opportunity to buy Shelly’s aunt’s house in St Joseph, Michigan presented itself.  Rich and Shelly bought the house and turned it into a short-term rental.  Experiencing the world of real estate investment opened their eyes to the needs of the community.

Their short-term rental thrived and many people were very impressed with how they had transformed and marketed the property.  There was a buzz about their success in their network of friends and acquaintances.  People they knew well and people they didn’t know very well started to approach them for help.  Some wanted help watching their home while they were out of town for the winter.  Others wanted help managing their short-term rental. Thus, Welcome Home Watch Concierge was born.

Rich worked for a third party solutions-oriented company for 26 years.   He has audited and inspected locations for compliance in the consumer packaged good industry. His attention to detail and follow-through is second to none.

Shelly has worked as an insurance agent for 10 years and is an expert in customer service.  She is driven by making sure her clients understand all of the options available and have the best customer experience possible.
